Expecting Parents
Life changes the minute you find out you’re expecting. While pregnancy can be unpredictable, GE Appliances has tried to make one thing easier – navigating your benefits, parental leave and returning to work.
Before and during pregnancy
Our WellWithin team developed a location-specific maternity toolkit with employees in mind. You’ll find links to access your GE Appliances benefits, a to-do list at each stage of pregnancy, mental health resources, guidance on transitioning back to work, and more.

Returning to work & lactation rooms
New moms need support, and GE Appliances is here to provide it. We’ve worked hard to provide comfortable lactation rooms throughout our sites and have been recognized by the Worksite Wellness Council of Louisville for our commitment to working moms.

Ebony continued breastfeeding after returning to work at GE Appliances from maternity leave – something she couldn’t do with her first two children at a previous employer.
Paid Parental Leave (PPL)
We want our employees to feel like they have the best job at the best place to work. Our inclusive stance on paid parental leave for working parents is an important way we achieve this goal. More than ever, caregiving responsibilities extend to both women and men. The birth or the adoption of a child is a once-in-a-lifetime experience and at GE Appliances, we celebrate the balance between family and work.
Every employee – moms and dads – have access to paid parental leave (PPL). We expanded our paid parental leave in 2018 to include paternity leave and, in 2021, to include our manufacturing workforce.
GE Appliances wants to close that gap.
At-a-glance PPL guidelines
GE Appliances employees may qualify for 2 to 12 weeks PPL depending on your employment classification. GE Appliances’ medical claims partner, Sedgwick, can help with your application. Speak with your HRM or visit benefits.geappliances.com and select Benefits Information. Scroll to Other and find Paid Parental Leave to learn more.
- Take your PPL within one year of the birth or placement of the child; either consecutively or throughout the year
- Leave provides 100% of pay
