Early Mother’s Day Present

Recently launched maternity toolkit a ‘one-stop-shop’ for expecting moms.

Preparing for the birth of a child is a joyful time — but all the necessary planning can be stressful, too. To help minimize stress and maximize excitement, WellWithin has designed a toolkit for expecting and new moms.

The comprehensive resource features information ranging from health benefits and parental leave policies to a pregnancy nutrition checklist and breastfeeding support – all tailored for the GEA mom who works at Appliance Park.

It’s a welcome resource, according to GEA transportation manager Emily Hazelbaker, who just had her second child.

“To have a ‘one-stop-shop’ that helps walk you through each step of the way and includes these various aspects of the maternity experience is amazing,” says Emily. And although she went through this process when her first child was born, upon reviewing the new toolkit she realized there were a few things left to do before her baby boy arrived in April.

The toolkit is one way WellWithin is fulfilling its mission to empower GEA team members to achieve health and wellbeing for themselves — and their growing families.

“The fact that there is a team dedicated to creating this toolkit shows that GEA understands there’s a gap in this process and wants to help change that,” Emily said. “Many companies listen to feedback, but few act on it. I think this speaks to our culture and values here at GEA.”

The WellWithin team is talking with site leaders across the business about adapting the New Mom Toolkit for various locations. To download the toolkit, visit benefits.geappliances.com or Lactation Rooms/Maternity from the GEA Employee Resources tab. To request a printed copy, email Michele Clark
