A Different Kind of Advanced Technology
Life is coming at us fast. For K Nagaraja, fast doesn’t always mean better.
“We’ve witnessed rapid technological progress in our world,” says K, Senior Principal Program Director of GE Appliances, Hyderabad. “Remarkable advancements across all sectors have brought unprecedented comfort and luxury into our daily lives.”
However, K quickly found those conveniences had a few downsides.
“I’ve come to recognize that, while modern technologies enhance material well-being,” says K. “Nurturing our physiological and psychological health often requires a return to timeless wisdom—a different kind of advanced technology—proven over centuries to foster holistic well-being.”
In essence, K realized that to keep up, he had to slow down.
“Amidst this digital whirlwind, I embarked on a distinct journey,” says K. “One that explores an unconventional avenue. I’ve embraced a holistic lifestyle by following the 3 key guides.”
K’s daily practice consists of:
- 3 Meals a Day: Restricting food intake to three meals a day, consuming only water in between.
- Gratitude: Cultivating gratitude towards the world and nature, which continually nurtures us. Expressing gratitude when you wake up, during meals, and at other moments throughout your day.
- 10 minutes of Pranayama: Practicing a simple pranayama (breath-controlled yoga) exercise for at least 10 minutes a day.
For K, in a fast-paced world, simplifying his life advanced him the most.
“I would strongly recommend these disciplines for everyone,” says K. “It improved my life, and I believe it will help others too.”
