Changing my way of thinking.
Sometimes life feels like a juggling act. For Soo Yang, a finance employee for GE Appliances, a Haier company, working motherhood was just that.
“I was very mentally tired,” says Soo. “I tried to find a work-life balance, but it required lots of sacrifice.”
That’s when Soo attended a mindfulness lecture with a famous psychology professor at GE Appliances Korea.
“It changed my way of thinking,” says Soo. “Happiness is never far away. We just have to look for it.”
Soo learned to protect her mental health by keeping her positive memories fresh on her mind.
“I learned to dwell most on happy memories,” says Soo. “No matter how small the memory, focusing on it allows the positivity to last longer.”
Now, even on her hardest days, Soo has learned to focus her attention on joy.
“It takes effort to find the good in things,” says Soo. “But if we look hard enough, every day is precious and full of happiness.”
