Friends are good for your soul (and your wellbeing)

Today is National Send a Card to a Friend Day.  Whether it’s an ecard, an email, a text, or a printed card – take time to write to a friend.  You know you’ll be glad you did (and so will your friend) because friendships matter and are so good for you.

Friendships can help boost your self-esteem, improve your self-confidence and self-worth, and promote a sense of belonging. Friendship can also help us buffer stress in our life. They allow us to unload the details of a bad day, cope with grief of all kinds, help find perspective or inspire a good laugh. Physically, friendships provide us with a hug or give the opportunity to share an activity together like playing basketball, running or soccer.  Read on if you need a little push … then, write!
