No More Silent Struggles

Mental Health Allies are here to listen, support, and connect you to help.

Family secrets weighed heavily on Lindsey Fish.

“When I shared my family’s story during Suicide Awareness Month last year, I wanted others to know they’re not alone,” says Lindsey, Associate Communications Specialist in Decatur. “It’s okay to speak up, ask for help, and find support.”

Others have done the same. Employees Byron Hatch and Katie Wagner both opened up about their families’ mental health struggles—and say speaking out brought a sense of relief and connection.

Now, through the new Mental Health Ally program, employees have even more ways to find support, talk to someone who gets it, and get connected to care.

Meet Your Mental Health Allies

WellWithin is launching the Mental Health Ally program to create a safe, supportive workplace for everyone.

“It’s important for employees to know there are resources available, no matter what they’re facing,” says Lindsey, who quickly volunteered to be part of the program along with 20+ other employees.

Mental Health Allies are coworkers—like Lindsey—who have received special training to:
✔ Listen when you need to talk.
✔ Support you without judgment.
✔ Connect you to helpful resources.

They aren’t therapists, but they’re trained coworkers you can turn to if you’re feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or just need help finding support.

“Mental health has always been a passion of mine, stemming from both my personal experiences with anxiety and those within my family,” says Lindsey. “I hope this program helps more people feel comfortable speaking up.”

How to Find a Mental Health Ally

  • In person: Look for someone wearing a t-shirt or badge that reads “Mental Health Ally.”
